While many grooming practices are well-known and widely discussed, there are several lesser-known tips and tricks that can enhance your grooming routines. In this article, we are going to explore 7 grooming tips that you may not know. By incorporating these tips into your routine you can improve your overall grooming habits and feel more confident in your appearance. Let’s dive in!

1: Be gentle when washing your face.

It amazes me how often I see people scrubbing their faces aggressively when it comes time to cleanse their skin. There is no relation between the violent force applied to your face and how clean it will be. If you are using an effective cleanser then all you need to do is gently massage the cleanser into your skin using circular motions. The magic is in the cleanser, not your force! Remember to use plenty of cool water to rinse your skin free of the cleanser.

2: Water Matters

The water you drink is important, we all know that but the water we use to wash our face with is just as important. You would not drink dirty or non-filtered water, would you? Then why do you use that water from the tap that is full of chlorine, iron, etc on your face? Start to use filtered water when you wash your face, it will prevent clogged pores, flaking, and itching skin.

3: Exfoliation

Exfoliation should not just be a body thing, It is also important to exfoliate your face, and do not forget those lips. Exfoliation helps remove the build-up, dead, damaged, dry skin and it helps with anti-aging measures. Depending on your skin type there are grain, gommage, and chemical versions of exfoliation. Whatever version you use make sure you exfoliate 1-3 times per week.

4: Silk Pillowcase

Sleeping on a silk pillowcase can have numerous benefits for your hair and skin. Unlike cotton pillowcases, silk causes less friction so this helps prevent hair breakage and frizz. It also helps retain the skin’s moisture and it reduces the likelihood of waking up with creases or sleep lines on your face. Make sure you read the label you want it to be 100% silk!

5: Cleanse your makeup brushes

Dirty makeup brushes can hide bacteria and this can lead to breakouts or skin irritations and infections. Make it a habit to clean your makeup brushes at least every 2 weeks. Use a mild shampoo or a brush cleaner, gently lather the bristles and rinse thoroughly. Leave them to air dry before using them again.

6: SPF your hands

In this day in age, we should be programmed by now to apply sunscreen every morning. While many remember to apply SPF to their face and neck, many people neglect their hands. The skin on the back of your hands is thin and prone to sun damage, so make sure you are applying sunscreen on your hands at the same time as your face. Another golden tip is to introduce your hands to your nighttime serum and cream. After all the first signs of aging are on your face, neck, and hands!

7: Cuticle health

Healthy cuticles contribute to well-groomed nails. Apply cuticle oil or even coconut oil on your nails regularly to keep them nourished. Gently push them back after your warm shower to avoid damaging the delicate skin around your nails.

Taking care of yourself and practicing good grooming habits is an important part of self-care and overall well-being. By incorporating these lesser-known grooming tips into your routine, you can enhance your beauty and feel more confident in your appearance.
