There's nothing that beats the summer heat like ice cream; try your hand at this simple and easy ice cream base, which once you master it, you can make it into any flavour you're craving!

Ingredients

2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 400ml can sweetened condensed milk, chilled
1 tsp vanilla, optional

Directions

  1. Whip the cold cream on medium/high speed with the whisk attachment of a hand or stand mixer until soft peaks form.
  2. With the machine off, pour in the cold condense milk.
  3. Increase to high speed and whisk until thick, stiff peaks form.
  4. Mix in the vanilla by hand, if flavouring.
  5. Mix in chocolate, cookies, sprinkles, fruit or anything to your liking into the base to create unique flavours, or eat plain.
  6. Freeze your ice cream (flavoured or plain) for at least 6 hours in an airtight container before eating.
