Photo rules

Read these first so your photos are eligible.

✓ You must have photo rights or permission.
✓ The photographer's credit must be visible on every photo.
✓ Give one photographer credit per photo on your entry form, in the same order you upload them.
✓ Maximum file size is 80 MB per photo.
✓ Colour photos only, no black and white.
✓ Unpublished photos only, including social media.
✓ Use the same email address on your entry form and at checkout.
✓ After you submit, check your email (including spam) for your confirmation.

Photo tips

✓ Practise your poses in front of a mirror and find your best angles.
✓ Trust your photographer's direction on set.
✓ Bring several outfits that show your personality, pressed and organized by look.
✓ Book grooming, tan and nails a few days before the shoot.
✓ Hydrate, eat well and get a full night's sleep before shoot day.
✓ Choose sharp, well-lit, high-resolution images.
✓ Send variety: full body, three-quarter and close-up.
✓ Pick your strongest shots. More photos never improve your chances.

Notes for photographers

✓ Your credit is published with every photo selected, so give the model your name exactly as it should appear.
✓ Place your credit on every image the model submits.
✓ Supply full-resolution colour files. Black and white images are not eligible.
✓ Images must be unpublished, including on social media.
✓ By entering, the model confirms she has your permission to submit and publish the photos.
✓ Maximum file size is 80 MB per photo.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy a package to enter?

No. Standard Entry is free: one eligible photo and full consideration for the Hot & Fit 100, the Top 8 and the cover. You complete a $0 checkout to confirm your entry, with no payment needed.

Can I apply for more than one opportunity?

Yes. Select every feature that interests you on the application and we will direct you to the right submission process for each.

Does buying an Inside Story or Women in Business feature guarantee a competition spot?

No. The Top 100, Top 8 and cover winner are selected independently. Paid sponsored profiles appear separately, are identified as advertising, and never affect competition judging.

What happens to Transformation applications?

There is no cost to apply for Transformations. Applications are reviewed by our editors and, if suitable, you will receive a follow-up invitation. Selected stories are published at no cost.

Do I need professional photos right away?

No. Start with the short entry form, then choose your package and upload your photos at checkout before December 7, 2026. Professional or not, every photo needs the photographer's credit visible on it.

When does the magazine come out?

The 18th annual Hot & Fit 100 collector's edition is released digitally first. A limited printed issue follows in January 2027, and print quantities are limited. Digital and print copies are sold separately and are not included with any entry package or sponsored profile. Separate promotional events in Toronto mark the issue's release. Details to follow.

Who can enter?

Women 18 or older who live in Canada. You must submit your own entry, and you must have the rights or permission to use every photo you send.

How do photographer credits work?

Every photo needs a photographer credit. List one credit per photo on the entry form, in the same order you upload your photos, and make sure the credit is visible on each photo. Entries with a missing credit can't be judged until it's added.

When is the deadline?

Entries open October 20 and close December 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

How will I know my entry is complete?

You'll receive a confirmation email after you submit the form and another after checkout. If anything is missing, such as a photo or a photographer credit, we'll email you before the deadline so you can fix it.

Does a bigger package improve my chances?

No. More photos give our judges more to choose from, but they never increase your chance of being selected. Standard Entry gets full consideration for the Hot & Fit 100, the Top 8 and the cover.
