Sleep Protein® Hits Shelves Nationwide at Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore & Zehrs

Sleep is finally getting the same shelf space as protein powder — and one Canadian brand is betting big on it.

Forewinds Inc. has announced that Sleep Protein®, a nighttime recovery supplement designed to support muscle repair and better sleep, is now rolling out nationwide across select Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, and Zehrs locations. It's a major retail win for a homegrown brand, and a sign that the "sleep as performance" trend is officially mainstream in Canada.

What Is Sleep Protein®?

Sleep Protein® is positioned at the intersection of sports nutrition and sleep wellness — a category that's been exploding as more people connect quality recovery with quality training. The product carries Health Canada approval (NPN: 80147681) and comes in two flavours: Vanilla Sky and Midnight Chocolate.

The pitch is simple: instead of just fueling your workout, fuel your recovery — the part of the process that actually rebuilds muscle and resets your nervous system while you sleep.

A Big Moment for the Brand

Landing shelf space at Loblaw banner stores is no small feat, and founder Marc Boudreau framed it as validation of a long development process behind the scenes. Loblaws, for its part, is positioning the launch as part of a broader push into its wellness category, and is calling itself the first major Canadian retailer to bring the product to market nationally.

To pull off a rollout of this scale across hundreds of stores, Sleep Protein® has partnered with Western Impact Distribution, whose VP pointed to surging consumer demand for both functional protein and sleep-focused products as the driving force behind the deal.

Why It Matters for the Industry

A few things worth watching here if you're paying attention to where the supplement category is headed:

  • Sleep is becoming a mainstream performance category — not just a niche wellness add-on, but something major retailers are actively building shelf strategy around.
  • A Canadian brand securing a national listing at this scale is a notable case study in what it takes to move from formulation to big-box distribution.
  • Nighttime nutrition is the next battleground in a supplement market that has spent the last decade almost entirely focused on pre- and post-workout.

Sleep Protein® begins hitting wellness aisles at participating Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, and Zehrs locations throughout the month.
